INFO
MFS draws its strength from the
unique qualification and experience of its
founder, Thierry Meyrat.
A 1967 graduate of the prestigious French
business school, Ecole des Hautes Etudes
Commerciales "H.E.C", Mr Meyrat was
trained in commercial lending for eight years
by Banque Nationale de Paris "BNP"
in France before being transferred as
Corporate Vice President to its Singapore
Branch. There he learned, for four years,
transaction financing based on documentary
letters of credit with Asian bankers and
import /export trading firms, which
constituted the bulk of the commercial
portfolio of the Branch.
After experimenting with industrial
procurement from Singapore to Indonesia for
another two years, Mr Meyrat moved to the
States, where he launched the international
department of Capital Bank & Trust Co.,
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1990, he
relocated to Dallas to create a Trade Finance
program for the Dallas / Fort Worth
International Trade Resource Center, which
was absorbed by the Greater Dallas Chamber of
Commerce "GDC" in November 1991.
From a pure counseling function, the Trade
Finance Program evolved along the years into
a 'hands on" consulting and credit
insurance brokering entity to better service
the needs of its clientele composed of small
and new exporting firms.
In 1995, the Program became the official
representative of the Ex-Im Bank in North
Texas and was renamed the North Texas City /
State Partnership. In 1997, Mr Meyrat passed
the examination for Local Recording Agent in
order to sell credit insurance. In September
2001, after the GDC jettisoned its Trade
Finance Program, he established MEYRAT
FINANCIAL SERVICES to continue assisting
Texas exporters and importers with his
financing knowledge, business experience and
excellent contacts with Ex-Im Bank credit
officers, bankers and commercial lenders, who
view MFS as the ideal upstream partner for
the financing of import and export
transactions.
